Godsunchained supports Passport and MetaMask with different gas requirements on Immutable zkEVM

Last updated:

Godsunchained players can choose Passport for gas-free gaming on Immutable zkEVM or MetaMask with IMX for gas payments. Both choices require account linking, and in-game purchases need tokens on the correct network. A token balance on Immutable X doesn't provide in-game spending access.

Claimed in-game rewards go to the account's default wallet, which can be Passport or another linked wallet.

Wallet requirements on Immutable zkEVM

In-game purchases depend on a linked wallet holding usable funds on Immutable zkEVM, alongside its applicable gas arrangement. Packs, Battle Passes, and Sealed entries share this network requirement. The wallet connection, token balance, and default address each have a different role.

Wallet requirements on Immutable zkEVM
Wallet parameter Value or behavior Required account or balance
Wallet linking Managed through Manage Wallets Access to the game account and the wallet
In-game token network Immutable zkEVM Tokens on zkEVM, with bridging needed for tokens held elsewhere
MetaMask gas token IMX IMX in the wallet on Immutable zkEVM
Passport gaming gas Gas-free gaming experience A Passport wallet linked to the game account
Claimed in-game reward destination The default wallet A default wallet selected in Manage Wallets

Account linking and the default wallet

Manage Wallets connects the game account to its wallet options and provides the default setting for claimed in-game rewards. Passport should appear in that account area. Either Passport or another linked wallet can be selected as the default.

The account connection and blockchain configuration serve different purposes. MetaMask needs the Immutable zkEVM network configuration for the game's zkEVM transactions; Passport doesn't require that MetaMask-specific setup. Selecting a default address also doesn't bridge funds.

Does Passport make every purchase free?

Passport provides gas-free gaming, while packs, Battle Passes, and Sealed entries remain purchases with their own payment requirements. Gas is the fee for blockchain transaction execution. The price of an item or entry is a separate amount, so the gaming gas benefit doesn't supply the purchase funds.

The benefit applies to the supported gaming experience through Passport. It doesn't promise free bridging from every source network or free execution of every external wallet action. The requirements of a funding route remain separate from the game's gas arrangement.

MetaMask gas and network selection

MetaMask needs the Immutable zkEVM network configuration and an IMX balance for transactions where you pay the gas.

The purchase token and gas token perform separate jobs. Gas for transactions on Immutable zkEVM is paid in IMX. Holding GODS, ETH, or USDC on that network doesn't establish that the wallet also has IMX available.

An ETH gas request for an in-game transaction intended to run on zkEVM signals that the wrong chain is selected. Switch MetaMask to Immutable zkEVM before signing that transaction. A separate source-chain operation follows that chain's gas requirements.

GODS also has a role in forging alongside Flux. Those crafting inputs don't replace IMX when a transaction requires user-paid zkEVM gas.

Which token balances need bridging?

Tokens held outside Immutable zkEVM need bridging when you want to use those funds for the game's zkEVM purchases. This includes balances on Immutable X. LayerSwap is a documented route for bridging ETH, GODS, USDC, and IMX to Immutable zkEVM.

A wallet connection doesn't perform that move. A balance on Immutable X remains separate from a balance on zkEVM, even when the same wallet is involved. Tokens on Immutable X are no longer supported for in-game use, so retaining the older network balance doesn't satisfy the purchase requirement.

Balance information and transaction history help distinguish the funding operation from the later game purchase. Funds must have arrived on zkEVM before they can support that purchase. Connecting a wallet or signing a bridge request, by itself, isn't confirmation that the destination balance has arrived.

Wallet choice and staking eligibility

Passport and MetaMask can both participate in GODS staking on Immutable zkEVM, subject to the program's balance and activity rules. The program requires GODS in a compatible zkEVM wallet, with no minimum holding. Holding the token alone doesn't complete eligibility: qualifying activity is also required.

The qualifying alternatives are playing at least one Ranked match, buying a pack from the most recent active sale, or buying or selling a game card on a marketplace. Its eligibility tracking is weekly. The program doesn't lock the GODS tokens, allowing access to the balance while participation remains subject to the applicable rules.

The staking program operates exclusively on zkEVM, so earlier Immutable X participation doesn't replace holding tokens on the required network. Choosing between Passport and MetaMask changes the gaming gas arrangement; it doesn't remove either wallet's staking eligibility requirements.

Good to know

Is GODS staking restricted to Passport and MetaMask?

GODS staking accepts any wallet supported on Immutable zkEVM. Passport and MetaMask are recommended options, but the program's compatibility rule is broader. Another wallet still needs support for the correct network, and its holdings and activity must meet the same eligibility requirements.

When does the staking program measure wallet balances?

The Immutable zkEVM staking program takes weekly snapshots and distributes rewards monthly. Rewards require a claim after calculation. The snapshot schedule and distribution schedule are different, so a wallet's eligibility during a weekly period doesn't imply an immediate payment into its balance.

Does mobile Passport sign-in include desktop crafting features?

The March 11, 2026 mobile feature list includes Passport sign-in but excludes the Forge and crafting. It also excludes Sealed Mode. These limits concern the mobile companion app, so Passport sign-in doesn't establish that the same app provides every desktop function.

Are token purchases through the Immutable Toolkit subject to identity checks?

Token purchases through the Immutable Toolkit may require Know Your Customer (KYC) checks. This condition belongs to that funding option, separately from Passport's gaming gas arrangement. A gas-free game transaction doesn't remove identity checks that apply to the token purchase.

Do unclaimed Immutable X staking rewards migrate with GODS tokens?

Unclaimed rewards from the previous Immutable X staking program were forfeited and aren't eligible for migration to the zkEVM program. Moving a GODS token balance therefore doesn't transfer those old reward entitlements. Participation in the zkEVM program follows its own balance and activity requirements.
